Brief: Once again we were reunited with our pals on the Christian O'Connell Breakfast Show to aid Absolute Radio deliver two separate events - a live outside broadcast from a listener's front room where the winner could win both a Sky 3D TV and have a major pop star play live in their house! The second being even bigger and suitably named "BrekFest" where the winner would win a mini music festival in their garden with two popular bands, along with other typical festival elements.
Beatwax were brought in to deliver both outside broadcasts. The first featuring a live session from KT Tunstall, and the second featuring live sessions from both HardFi and Miles Kane. With only a week from the on air announcement of the winners to the live shows it was a short lead turnaround time.
Solution: Beatwax deployed a state of the art 3G broadcast system capable of broadcasting live from anywhere there was a 3G signal in the UK. In addition to this a full live PA system was made ready to depart at short notice to wherever in the UK the winners happened to be.
For BrekFest Beatwax also prepared a full stage setup and a complete beer tent - all the bases were covered.
Beatwax were ready to spring into action.
On announcement of the winner our crack team undertook a site visit to work through the production plan and overall arrangements with the competition winner.
After the site visit and a little bit of scratching of heads we finalised the production plans and took over the winner's living rooms and gardens on the evening before the broadcast.
Results: Two great live shows and a shout out on air from Mr. Christian O'Connell.
