For the 10th anniversary of broadband in the UK, we developed a layered campaign centred on Speed of Light, a large-scale installation created UnitedVisualArtists (UVA) using the materials of fibre optic broadband – light/ laser and fibre optic cable.
 

A YouTube channel and Flickr page were created, allowing media to easily embed ‘making of’ video diaries and reference images. All content was displayed on a dedicated website to put the installation into context and encourage the public to visit.


Over 150 pieces of coverage have been generated to date (all favourable), 25% of ‘Technophiles’ have been reached average of 3 times, and 6,900 people visited the installation over 10 days against a target of 1,500 per week.

Speed of Light was the only campaign created by a PR Agency to receive Creative Review 'Best in Book' 2011. It also featured at the Design Museum as one of the Brit Insurance Designs of the Year.
